Taylor Hanson Must Die // Chapter Six (For Love of Taylor)

“How was it for you?” Viv asked Brielle as she walked in circles around her apartment.

“Fine. My detective was kind of bitchy. When I mentioned that I didn’t like Hanson’s stupid music she gave me this look like she wanted to rip my eyes out,” Brielle explained, “I think she might be a fan.”

“Oh, then I’m sure she just loved you and all your syphilis talk,” Viv said, laughing lightly despite herself.

“I could tell that she didn’t like me, and that means she’s not a very good detective.”

“Yeah, and what do you know about being a good detective?”

“My dad’s been a police chief in the south Chicago suburbs for over thirty years. I know a thing or two.” Viv pulled the phone away from her ear and gave it a look of surprise before continuing the conversation..

“Well okay then,” she laughed, “My guy was fine.”

“You stuck to the story, right? You didn’t get all emotional and drippy?” Brielle asked.

“It was easy to stick to the story since it’s what actually happened,” Viv said rolling her eyes “But no, I didn’t get all drippy and say anything to make them think I actually had something to do with it.”

“Good. Oh, Molly’s calling me,” Brielle said before adding Molly to their call.

“Are you okay?” Molly asked.

“If I’m answering my phone, that means I’m okay,” Brielle said.

“Oh, right…” Molly said, sounding distracted.

“I’m okay, too,” Viv chimed in.

“Well, if they let us all go, then that means we’re not serious suspects any more. Thank god,” Brielle said.

“That Facebook group was a bad idea,” Molly grumbled, “As soon as the drunken girl-bonding euphoria wore off, I knew it was.”

“Says the girl who posted more horrific ways for Taylor to die than the two of us combined,” Brielle said.

“My entire world was imploding, so excuse me for needing to vent,” Molly spat back.

“That’s fine, I’m just saying that we all needed it to get over our Taylor drama, you included.”

“God damn it! If you’re going to drive like that, get off the road!” Molly suddenly screamed.

“Traffic crazy in L.A. right now?” Viv asked.

“I don’t know, probably,” Molly said. Viv narrowed her eyes and halted her circling steps.

“Where are you, Molly?” she demanded.

“Trying to find my exit,” Molly said.

“Your exit where?” Brielle asked.

“Milwaukee,” Molly said hurriedly, “Oh, there it is. Bye!”

“Molly!” Viv and Brielle cried out at the same time as Molly hung up on them.

“She is so not over him,” Brielle sighed.

“No, she isn’t.”
